From the House of the German Wine Route in Bockenheim southwards along the Palatinate Forest: Bad Dürkheim with the world’s largest wine barrel, Deidesheim, up to Hambach Castle above Neustadt, on to Edenkoben and Villa Ludwigshöhe, to Trifels Castle above Annweiler and finally through the German Wine Gate at Schweigen. The wine route itself is 85 kilometres long; the detours to Hambach Castle and Trifels make it 113 – over five days, shorter than any other route here, deliberately so.
